The Harvest: Venison Sirloin

Among my favorite sirloin tip selections are her Luau Fajitas. There’s nothing quite like pulled venison and tri-colored peppers over corn tortillas to enjoy and be reminded why you spend all that time wired to hunt and in pursuit of wild game. Get into the Wild and Stay Hangry for the Outdoors my friends.

Peppered Walleye Recipe

Walleye pairs well with just about every side dish. We have fried potatoes or used rice. For this meal we paired our walleye with fresh picked asparagus and sweet potatoes.

Game of Throngs: Do the Damn Things Work

I can tell you that personally, when I pluck a product off a shelf or order it online, when I make a purchase I don’t care about the countless hours that went into the design; the countless dollars spent on research and development; the OEM logistics; or the dedicated product testing paradigms. What I do care about is this; that The Damn Thing Works. I bought it new so it better look new, and that it works. That’s the HangryBrand pledge: The products we sell, The Damn Things Work!

Fishing Spoons, Wounded Bait Fish, and Finding Fall Bass

In 1852 the spoon lure was officially invented. What we mean by this is Buel’s spoon inspired lure was officially registered by the US patent and trademark office. Buel’s own parents were relieved as they had long-since grown tired of their son cutting the handles from all their silverware. It was a few years prior to the issuance of the patent that Buel and his father opened their first manufacturing facility.

Of Daughters and Farts: ‘Let her Rip’

Yes, holding in farts can mean really F-ing bad, stinky and embarrassing breath. And if there’s one thing worse than kissing a ashtray, its going lip to lip with someone with Sloth breathe.

Shepherd's or Hunter’s Pie Recipe

Now there are many Shepherd's Pie recipes. I find most of these recipes time consuming and requiring a lot of preparation and ingredients. This one is a favorite of mine because you have the ingredients easily, it’s fast, and even the littles enjoy it. An added bonus is you can actually make it during a busy work week.

Sharpen Your Pencil (and check your fishing Hooks while you're at it):

So, wouldn’t it be nice if there was an alternative product? A product made in smaller quantities and in isolation of the ‘cheaper is better’ mindset. A product forged and durable, yet lightweight and nano-coated (i.e. water repellent and rust-resistant). A product tough enough to land a +40lb Salmon without straightening out and sharp enough out of the package to not need any hand-filing. What if I told you there was such a hook that could do all of this and much more. That this hook has never before been used in a trolling spoon application…That is, until now...  the hooks that we use on our lures are not inexpensive and they are not cheap, but they are the first, last, and only hook you’ll ever want on your lures.

The ‘Remnar’ (Venison Meatloaf Sandwich Recipe)

When I asked her for the recipe she sent me a list of ingredients. No measurements. When asked about this she simply said, “I never measured, I just added until it looked good."

Whitetail Deer: An Enduring Commodity

A 120-130lb animal (20% of the live weight is comprised of mostly stomach, intestines, and a bit of blood) will field dress down to about +/- 100lbs . If you’re prepared to harvest the internal organs (heart, lungs, liver, kidney) then you’re talking 45lbs of meat and 55lbs of hide, bone, brain, and other tissue: What can be consumed breaks down as follows: 45lbs of pure, lean, red meat: 6-8lbs of organ meat; +/- 20lbs of steak; and 18-20lbs of ground meat.
